Mission & AI Principles

Human creativity
at the center.

How Eternal Knock Media uses artificial intelligence in our creative work — openly, ethically, and in service of human stories.

Short Statement

At EKM, human creativity leads. AI is a tool we use openly and ethically. Our stories are often drawn from life — handled with care, and with permission and consent where it matters.

Manifesto

The stories are ours.
The tools are tools.

Eternal Knock Media is a transmedia story studio, and we use AI in our process. We believe in saying that out loud. Human creativity sits at the center of everything we build — the vision, the characters, the music, the words. AI helps us bring worlds to life faster and more vividly than we could alone, but it doesn't replace artists we'd otherwise hire, and it doesn't generate the likenesses or voices of real people without their consent.

Many of our stories are drawn from real lives, including our own. We treat that source material with care — altering and fictionalizing when privacy matters, engaging more directly when stories are already public, and seeking permission and consent in sensitive situations. We aim to be transparent about what's AI-made and thoughtful about the tools we choose.

Our AI Principles

A living document — Eternal Knock Media builds original worlds across music, film, literature, art, brands, and events. AI is part of our production process. We use it openly, and we hold ourselves to the following principles.

01
Human creativity at the center
Every story, character, song, and visual world we release begins and ends with human authorship. Concepts, narratives, scripts, lyrics, art direction, and final creative decisions are made by people. AI assists. It does not author.
02
Transparency about what's AI-made
When AI plays a meaningful role in generating a piece of work — visual, audio, written, or otherwise — we name it. We don't hide our process or pretend tools weren't used. Audiences deserve to know how something was made.
03
Fair compensation, not replacement
We do not use AI to replace artists, performers, writers, or collaborators we would otherwise hire and pay. AI fills gaps in capacity and accelerates iteration. It does not take the place of human work we are responsible for compensating.
04
Drawn from life, told with care
Many of our stories are inspired by real people, real families, and real events — including our own. We treat that source material with care. When privacy matters or details could cause harm, we alter and fictionalize to protect the people behind the story. In sensitive situations, we seek permission and consent. When events are already part of the public record, we engage with them more directly. What we don't do is generate the likenesses, voices, or performances of real people without their consent, or pass off invented quotes and actions as theirs. Inspiration is acknowledged. Privacy is protected. Impersonation is off the table.
05
Original work, original IP
Our characters, worlds, and narratives are our own. We're not in the business of imitation. When something we make is shaped by another artist's work, we name the influence; otherwise, what comes out reflects a vision we've been carrying for years, not a style we asked AI to replicate.
06
Energy and environmental awareness
AI tools consume real resources. We are mindful of how often, how heavily, and how wastefully we use them — favoring intentional generation over endless iteration, and staying informed about the environmental footprint of the platforms we rely on.
07
An evolving standard
The technology is moving quickly, and so is our thinking. These principles are a living document. We will update them as the tools, the law, and our own understanding evolve — and we welcome the conversation.

The stories are ours.
The tools are tools.
